The German manufacturer is studying the prospect of release of model BMW 9 Series, which would have competed on the market with a luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S600. This was hinted by the Vice-President of BMW Group design Adrian van Hooydonk in an interview with the British edition.
“We are not going to stop 8 Series, said van Hooydonk — Our work is to develop more models than the company can currently build. Our team have great plans, we look at what will be the line BMW until 2030.”
The future of the “nine” will be built on the same with a new “eight” platform. Part of the power range is also likely to be borrowed from the recently introduced coupe. Recall that currently features 8 Series feature a three-liter diesel “turborestore” impact of 320 HP and 680 Nm of torque (version 840d) and gasoline “byturbulence” capacity of 4.4 liters capacity of 530 HP (version M850i).
By the way, in the portfolio of BMW has already registered trademarks i9 and X9, so, the new flagship can take the form of an electric vehicle, and large crossover.
Recall that BMW is planning to introduce a large crossover X7, which will join the brand line as off-road flagship. Recently a manufacturer told me what tests had to pass the car on the way to the premiere. It is expected that the model will debut in November at the Los Angeles auto show.
